From all indications, Blakk Rasta’s voice would be heard on Xylofon 102.1fm soon and he has disclosed to showbizpunch.com that he isn’t changing his style of presentation on radio.
”Blakk Rasta is Blakk Rasta. I always stand for positivity and self-pride. I will continue in this same line. The only thing is that, I have become deeper, more matured, wiser and stronger. These attributes will feature in my new radio strides.
The youth will be taken through another positive journey of self-realisation and thought-provoking experiences. Radio will be lively again. We will put the leaders we voted into power before and now, in check. We will bring respect and decency to radio again.
Those who stopped listening to radio because I was away can now have a double bite of the cherry. This time, it is deeper and more spiritual. Many cannot contain the fire. To Jah be the glory!”
It’s almost two years since Blakk Rasta resigned from Hitz 103.9fm due to the lack of support from his employers after he was summoned to Parliament over comments he made to the effect that 80 percent of parliamentarians’ smoke marijuana.
Quite surprisingly, Blakk Rasta has not been on radio ever since and its quite worrisome as many Reggae music lovers love to listen to him on radio.
When showbizpunch.com got in touch with Blakk Rasta in an exclusive interview, he revealed that so many radio and TV stations had approached him but he has declined most of them adding that in most instances, it was difficult to agree on remuneration or vision.
When asked what he had been doing off radio, Blakk Rasta noted that he found time to follow other interests such as lecturing in several American Universities, music and touring. God also took time to prepare him for Ministry as well as he has now become more spiritual than before.
Blakk Rasta who misses radio had this to say:
”For sure, I miss radio because it is in my DNA. When I do miss radio, I occupy myself with thoughts of God’s supreme and divine mission for my life. I worship, pray and fill my heart with love, faith and hope thereby, relegating radio for the future. Moreover, God spoke to me through several Men of God about my return to radio and how it will strike like thunder and flash like lightning “.
