Highlife artiste ,Quarme Zaggy obviously seems not to be happy as for the past seven years since he announced his arrival onto the music scene ,he has not even received 50 pesewas as royalty even though he is a registered GHAMRO member.
However ,with the agreement he with amuse.io, an international distribution company based in Sweden, for the second time within a year,he is receiving royalty.
Find below what he wrote on social media:
I signed with amuse.io, an international distribution company based in Sweden last year and this the second time am receiving my royalty but in my own country where I came into the mainstream 7years ago I’ve not received not even 50p for neither my first album nor the singles I have released so far, there’s no proper structures (log in) for musicians in this country we live in and nobody seem to care about it.
Am tired of being asked in an interview ” what else do you do apart from the music.” let’s our music pay for musicians to stop dying poor…
The question still remains: what’s the way forward for Ghana music??
My fellow musicians, we should stop pretending everything is right and face the truth. Nothing is right, what other part of the world are doing we can equally do too…
